Rams Waive WR Damian Williams, Promote TE Justice Cunningham

The St. Louis Rams have placed WR Damian Williams on waivers Tuesday and promoted TE Justice Cunningham from their practice squad, according to Howard Balzer.

The Rams signed Williams to their active roster close to a month ago, but it appears as though they prefer their other options at wide receiver.

Williams, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Titans. He spent the first four seasons of his career in Tennessee before he signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins back in April.

However, Williams was unable to make the Dolphins final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was ultimately released. His best season came in 2011 when he recorded 45 catches for 592 yards and five touchdowns.
