Yanda has been mulling retirement since the end of the season, with multiple teammates believing he would ultimately decide to end his career.
Many consider Yanda to be a future Hall of Famer. He’s been a rock for the Ravens at guard since being drafted in 2007.
His retirement leaves a major hole for the Ravens to fill at guard this offseason.
Yanda, 35, is a former third-round pick of the Ravens back in 2007. He was in the final year of his five-year, $34.14 million contract that included $17.8 million guaranteed when the Ravens signed him to a one-year extension last April.
Yanda played all 13 of his seasons for the Ravens, starting 108 of 177 possible games. He was named to the Pro Bowl eight times and was a first-team All Pro twice. He also won a Super Bowl with Baltimore following the 2012 season.
