Ravens Haven’t Closed Door On Re-Signing WRs Mike Wallace & Michael Campanaro

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome told reporters on Friday that they haven’t closed the door on re-signing free agent WRs Mike Wallace and Michael Campanaro, per Jamison Hensley.

According to Newsome, there have been conversations with both players in recent days.

Wallace, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He spent four years in Pittsburgh before signing on with the Dolphins in 2013.

Wallace was later traded to the Vikings before the cut him loose after one season. The Raven later signed him to a  two-year, $11.5 million contract that included a $4.75 million signing bonus and he’s once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Wallace appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and caught 52 passes for 748 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 51 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.

Campanaro, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.287 million rookie contract when the Ravens waived him with an injury designation in 2016.

The Ravens later signed him to their practice squad before later calling him up towards the end of the season.

Campanaro returned to Baltimore last year on a new one-year contract worth a maximum value of $2 million and is once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Campanaro appeared in 13 games for the Ravens and caught 19 passes for 173 yards receiving and one touchdown. He also rushed for 42 yards. On special teams, Campanaro totaled 159 kick return yards and 291 punt return yards and one touchdown.

We’ll have more regarding the Ravens as the news is available.
