Jason Cole ofย Yahoo Sports reports that the Ravens decision to fireย OC Cam Cameron on Monday came fromย an “accumulation of personal issues” Cameron and QBย ย Joe Flacco, as well as the rest of the team’s coaching staff.
Cole adds thatย Cameron was viewed as a “control freak” and the decision to remove him had to do with keeping Flacco happy.
There’s no question that something was wrong with the Ravens offense and they’re clearly focused on re-signing Flacco during the offseason, so the moves makes plenty of sense in that regard. Baltimore may have to use their franchise tag on Flacco to buy them some extra time negotiate a long-term deal, but that will be a costly move on their part.
We have Flacco listed as the No. 10 best available player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.
