Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins have placed ILB Adam Hayward on the season-ending injured reserve.
Hayward suffered a torn ACL in Thursday’s preseason game, ending his season. This is the second time he has landed on the injured reserve for the Redskins in as many seasons.
Hayward, 31, appeared in 11 games last season in mostly a special teams role. In 2014, he accumulated 12 total tackles and finished the season ranked as the No. 55 overall inside linebacker after all players that recorded a defensive snap were accounted for, according to Pro Football Focus.
