The Redskins announced they have placed G Brandon Scherff, WR Trey Quinn and CB Jimmy Moreland on injured reserve.
Washington also signed DB’s Kayvon Webster and Coty Sensabaugh. The team promoted DB Maurice Smith from the practice squad to the active roster, per Aaron Wilson.
Scherff, 27, is a former No. 5 overall pick by the Redskins out of Iowa in the 2015 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $21.215 million fully guaranteed rookie contract and is playing out the fifth-year option on that deal.
The Redskins picked up Scherff’s option last May and paid him $12,525,000 for the 2019 season.
In 2019, Scherff started 11 games for the Redskins. He’s rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 6 guard out of 80 qualifying players.
Quinn, 24, was taken in the seventh round out of SMU by the Redskins in 2018. He’s in the second year of a four-year, $2,529,700 contract that included a $69,070 signing bonus with Washington.
In 2019, Quinn appeared in 12 games for the Redskins and caught 26 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown.
Webster, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Broncos back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract before signing a two-year, $7.75 million deal that included $4.25 million guaranteed with the Rams in 2017.
Webster was set to make a base salary of $3 million for the 2018 season when the Rams released him during the offseason. He spent last year with the Texans before the Saints signed him to a contract this summer.
Unfortunately, Webster was released coming out of the preseason.
In 2018, Webster appeared in two games for the Texans and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.
