Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins released DE Kendall Reyes on Tuesday.
Reyes, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the team before signing a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Redskins this offseason.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Reyes will free up $2 million in available cap space while creating $1 million in dead money.
In 2016, Reyes has appeared in two games and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
