Rich Campbell of The Washington Times reports that the Redskins are ready to approach LB London Fletcher about re-signing with the team.
“I’m not going to hide behind the fact that we love London,” GM Bruce Allen said. “We hope he’s a Redskin.”
Fletcher is an anomaly of a player as he continues to produce despite being 36 years old. Washington loves having him as their captain so it would be surprising to see him playing elsewhere next season.
Jason La Canfora reports that the Washington Redskins have signed S Brandon Meriweather to a two year deal worth $6 million.
This move will likely mean that the Redskins are prepared to move forward without S LaRon Landry who has drawn plenty of interest in recent days. There were reports that O.J. Atogwe could be brought back next season but that too seems unlikely now.
