According to Tom Pelissero, the Redskins have been calling teams around the league trying to trade CB Josh Norman.
However, Pelissero says there hasn’t been much of a market for the veteran corner, who is due $6 million in salary this year and has been battling various injuries.
Norman, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He spent four years in Carolina and actually received the Panthers’ franchise tag following the 2015 season
However, Carolina surprisingly pulled the tender and he eventually signed a five-year, $75 million contract that includes $36.5 million fully guaranteed with the Redskins.
Norman stands to make base salaries of $11 million and $12 million over the next two years of the contract.
In 2019, Norman has appeared in seven games for the Redskins and recorded 31 tackles, one sack, one interception and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
We’ll have more on Norman as the news is available.
