The Washington Redskins hosted five free agents for tryouts on Thursday including J’Mon Moore and Simmie Cobbs.
The full list of players includes:
- WR J’Mon Moore
- WR Jester Weah
- QB Amir Hall
- WR Reggie Davis
- WR Simmie Cobbs
Of this group, the Redskins opted to sign Weah to their practice squad.
Moore, 24, is a former fourth-round pick by the Packers in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Missouri. He was set to enter the second year of his four-year, $2.9 million rookie contract when Green Bay cut him loose during final roster cuts.
Since becoming a free agent, Moore has worked out for the Bills and Chiefs.
In 2018, Moore appeared in 12 games for the Packers and recorded two receptions for 15 yards receiving (7.5 YPC) and no touchdowns.
Cobbs, 24, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana back in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with Washington, but was released coming out of the preseason.
The Redskins later signed Cobbs to their practice squad after he cleared waivers. He was eventually signed to the Saints’ active roster before ending up on injured reserve last year.
New Orleans waived Cobbs coming out of the preseason.
During his three years at Indiana, Cobbs caught 139 passes for 1,990 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns over the course of 30 games.
