Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports is reporting that the Bears have signed former Raiders DE Lamarr Houston to a five-year $35 million deal.
The Bears have been widely rumored to be interested in many of the top free agent defensive ends, and this move likely cements the eventual release of DE Julius Peppers.
Houston, 26, fits into the Bears’ plans of getting younger on defense. While he is not an elite pass-rusher, the well-rounded Houston will undoubtedly help Chicago’s poor run defense.
