Broncos Officially Sign DE Jeremy Mincey

Update:

————

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos haven’t officially signed DE Jeremy Mincey to a contract, but still have plans to get a deal done.

  • Klis reports that the Broncos waived C J.D. Walton.

Tom Pelissero reports that Mincey’s contract with the Broncos is for the remainder of the 2013 season and he will receive more than minimum.

According to Pelissero, Mincey’s also had interest from two others teams, including a contender.

It’s likely that the hold up is related to Mincey passing a physical, so there is a good chance that this deal could be official in the near future.

Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports that the Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with recently DE Jeremy Mincey.

This move comes less than a day after Mincey cleared waivers following a surprising release from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mincey’s best years in the NFL came under Jack Del Rio’s leadership, so it really makes a good deal of sense that he would land in a place like Denver. They could use some additional help at defensive end, even though Mincey hasn’t been as productive this season.

Mincey, 30, signed a four-year contract worth $20 million that included $9 million guaranteed back in 2012, so he was just in year two of that deal before being cut loose.
