Report: Browns “Feeling Good” About Chances Of Signing Earl Thomas

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Browns are “feeling good” about the chances of them signing S Earl Thomas.

An unconfirmed report from earlier mentioned that the Browns are discussing a three-year contract with Thomas, so this is something to keep an eye on.

The Browns traded away Jabrill Peppers as part of the Odell Beckham Jr trade, so they could be looking for more safety depth.

Thomas, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2010. He played out the final year of his five-year, $44.725 million contract that includes $27.725 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $8.5 million for the 2018 season.

Thomas is testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2018, Thomas appeared in four games and recorded 22 tackles, three interceptions and five pass defense for the Seahawks.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
