NFL insider Jason La Canfora reports that the San Diego Chargers are interested in Mike Holmgren for their vacant head coaching job.
Holmgren has recently served as team president for the Cleveland Browns in the last three years before agreeing to mutually part ways. Holmgren has not coached since 2008 when he was with the Seahawks, but Holmgren has made it clear that he is open to returning to an NFL sideline for the upcoming season.
The Chargers have been actively searching for both a new GMย and head coach. Former Packers GM Ron Wolf is helping San Diego with their search for both positions and it’s worth noting that Wolf actually gave Holmgren his opportunity to be a head coach in the NFL.
Besides Holmgren, the Chargers have been considering other options like: Lovie Smith, Jim Mora and Bruce Arians, who is considered the team’s preferred choice.
