Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears brought in a number of free agent punters for workouts on Tuesday including: Chris Kluwe, Brian Moorman and Mat McBriar.
- Biggs adds that Drew Butler, the son of former Bears kicker Kevin Butler, T.J. Conley and Tress Way were also a part of Tuesdayโs workout.
Chicagoโs current punter, Adam Podlesh, put forth a poor effort against the Detroit Lions, which was evident by his 28.8 net average on Sunday. Podlesh is currently ranked as the worst punt in the league by Pro Football Focus.
Bringing in six punters is a pretty clear indication that Podleshโs time with the Bears is likely coming to an end.
Kluwe, 31, has been released by the Vikings and Raiders in just a matter of months. This is the first tryout weโve heard about since his most recent release.
Weโll have more regarding the Bearsโ punting situation as the news is available.
