ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that former Texans DT Earl Mitchell is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins.
- Schefter adds that Mitchell’s deal is a four-year contract worth $16 million and includes $9 million guaranteed,
Mitchell, 26, has only missed one game in his NFL career and totaled 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Texans in 2013.
Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 51 defensive tackle in the league out of 69 qualifying players. It’s worth noting that Mitchell is a capable interior pass-rusher, which is actually hard to find on the open market.
