Report: Fresno State QB Derek Carr Will Not Throw At The Combine

Ian Rapoport reports that Fresno State QB Derek Carr will not throw at NFL Scouting Combine next week and instead plans on participating in all of the other drills.

  • Rapoport adds that Carr will throw at Fresno State’s Pro Day in March.

Carr did participate in the Senior Bowl a few weeks ago, so NFL evaluators should already have a decent idea of what his arm is capable of. Carr was seemingly one of the winners during Senior Bowl week, but there has been some talk in recent weeks that he could be more of second-round talent as opposed to someone who could be in the mix to go in the top-10 this May.

This news comes just a day after UCF QB Blake Bortles announced that he would in fact participate in throwing drills next week.

We have Carr going to the Raiders in the second-round of our 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
