Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Rex Ryan is expected to be back for another season as the Jets head coach.
In a season which was expected to be Ryan’s last, the Jets have started out better than imagined and the team appears to be showing some positive signs of improvement across the board. The season is still young, but a source close to the situation says “the arrow now points to Rex being back next season.”
According to Schefter, another factor is that has owner Woody Johnson is happy with the chemistry between Ryan and new GM John Idzik.ย Johnson has been a big supporter of Ryan since he took over as the team’s head coach back in 2009.
With almost a dozen games left, the Jets season could still go either way, however it appears as though Ryan has improved his chances of being brought back for another go.
