Report: Raiders Release CB Ronald Bartell

The Oakland Raiders continued to clean out their roster on Monday as ESPN’s Bill Williamson reports that they have released CB Ronald Bartell.

Bartell, 31, has dealt with a number of injuries in recent years, but this move has more to do with his limited effectiveness and the fact that the Raiders in the middle of a complete overhaul on both sides of the ball. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 91 best cornerback out of 110 qualifying players.

There’s no question that finding help for their secondary will be a top priority for GM Reggie McKenzie during the offseason and particularly in next year’s draft.
