Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports that “a person familiar with the situation” has informed him that free agent TE Chris Cooley has agreed to re-sign with the Redskins following the loss of Fred Davis.
Davis torn his Achilles tendon during Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants. The Decision to bring back Cooley makes sense when you consider that he is as familiar with Washington offensive system as anyone who happens to be available. It’s hard to say whether or not he will be able to step in and produce right away, but Davis wasn’t exactly having a monster season.
