Report: Texans Release S Danieal Manning

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Houston Texans have released veteran Sย Danieal Manning.

Recentย reports mentioned that the Texans were trying to come to an agreement withย Manningย on a restructured contract, but apparently the two sides were unable to find common ground.

Manning, 31, signed aย four-year, $20 million contract that included $9 million guaranteed with the Texans back in 2011. He had one year remaining on his contract worthย $4.5 million andย would have countedย $6 million against the team’s 2014 salary cap.

Last year, Manning suffered a hairline fracture of his right fibulaย and was limited to appearing in just six games.
