Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post reports that Miami Dolphins first-round pick Ryan Tannehill is “not in the running” for the team’s starting quarterback job.
Biggane points to Tannehill’s “untimely mistakes, particularly when throwing into traffic.”
As of now, it appears as though David Garrard is the favorite to win the job, but Matt Moore will also have an opportunity to win the job during the team’s upcoming training camp. Tannehill was obviously a developmental prospect, despite the fact that he’s playing in a similar offense to the one he ran back in college. The fact that he’ll require some more time to develop was one of the reasons that draft experts had him graded as a late-first, early-second round pick in the draft.
