Adam Schefter reports that Saints DT David Onyemata is being suspended one game for violating the NFLโs substances of abuse policy.
It’s worth mentioning that this suspension comes from an offseason arrest in which Onyemata was cited for marijuana possession.
Onyemata, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.88 million contract and set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.
Onyemata will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2018, Onyemata appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 35 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense.
