Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints hosted free agent RB Benny Cunningham for a visit on Monday.
Last week, Jason La Canfora reported that the Saints were expected to bring in Cunningham for a visit at some point in the near future, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
Cunningham previously met with the Buccaneers a few weeks ago but left without an agreement in place.
Cunningham, 27, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State back in 2013. After four years with the Rams, the Bears signed him to a one-year contract last March.
Cunningham is testing the open market for the second time in as many years.
In 2017, Cunningham appeared in 14 games and rushed for 29 yards on nine carries (2.1 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 240 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He also contributed 147 kick return yards.
