The New Orleans Saints officially placed LB Ronald Powell, S Vinnie Sunseri, WR Nick Toon on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday, according to the NFL Transactions release.
New Orleans wound up waiving him with the injury designation, which left the possibility open that he could revert to injured reserve if no team placed a waiver claim on him.
Toon, 26, was entering the final year of his four-year, $2.51 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.
In 2014, Toon appeared in seven games and caught 17 passes for 215 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Saints.
