Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports that the Saints are placing DLย Obum Gwacham on injured reserve Wednesday to make room for OT Khalif Barnes, who is being signed to a contract.
Gwacham, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2015. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year but wound up being claimed off of waivers by the Saints.
Gwacham is currently in the second year of his four-year, $2,370,484 contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2015, Gwacham appeared in nine games for the Saints and recorded seven tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
