The New Orleans Saints released veteran TE Tom Crabtree on Saturday and signed RB Edwin Baker from their practice squad.
Crabtree re-signed with the Saints earlier this week, but with injuries at running back, it probably makes more sense to bring someone up for Sunday night’s game against Green Bay.
Crabtree spent time with the Packers, so he could be there to help them prepare for their Week 8 match up.
Crabtree, 28, signed a two-year, $1.6 million contract with the Buccaneers back in 2013, but he lasted just a little over a year with the team before he was cut loose back this past May.
Last year, Crabtree appeared in seven games and caught four passes for 21 yards receiving and a touchdown.
