According to Brett Tessler, the Saints released OL/DL Kristjan Sokoli from their practice squad due to “needs at another position.”
Tessler mentions that Sokoli is playing as a defensive lineman now and “could” return to the team soon.
Sokoli, 25, was taken in the sixth-round of last year’s NFL Draft by the Seahawks. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,370,484 rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 base salary for the 2016 season when he was cut loose by Seattle.
The Colts later signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season and later called him up to their active roster. Unfortunately, the Colts waived him a month ago.
In 2015, Sokoli was limited to appearing in one game for the Seahawks.
