According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints haveย restructured the contract of CB Keenan Lewis in order to create some cap space.
- Holder mentions thatย Lewis’ 2014 base salary has been reduced from $3.3 millionย to $1 million.
- The remainingย $2.1 million have been converted into aย bonus.
- Lewis’ 2015 salary ofย $4.1 million has also been reduced toย $1.8 million as well.
This will effectively increase his cap figures for the 2016 and 2017 seasons by $1.1 million. New Orleans now hasย $3,089,212 in available cap space.
Last year,ย signed a five-year, $25.5 million contract that included $10.5 million guaranteed with the Saints. He would appear in all 16 games and totalย 47 tackles, four interceptions and a forced fumble.
