Nick Underhill of NewOrleansFootball.com reports that the Saints have agreed to terms with DB Justin Hardee and FB Michael Burton.
Both players will receive one-year contracts from New Orleans.
Hardee, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Saints’ practice squad.
New Orleans promoted Hardee to their active roster a few weeks later. He returned to the Saints last year on a one-year contract.
In 2019, Hardee appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 10 tackles.
Burton, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions back in 2015. He signed a four-year, $2.46 million contract and made base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the remainder of the contract.
The Lions waived Burton in 2017, after which he was claimed by the Bears and finished out the remainder of his rookie deal. He had a brief stint with the Saints before signing on with the Redskins last year.
For his career, Burton has appeared in 65 games for the Lions, Bears and Redskins and rushed for 11 yards on eight carries to go along with nine receptions for 53 yards receiving and one touchdown.
