Saints Trying Out 4 Including Veteran QB Ricky Stanzi

According to Josh Katzenstein, the Saint tried out three players on Monday including QB Ricky Stanzi, G Todd Herremans, and TE Bear Pascoe.

Katzenstein adds that New Orleans also worked out TE Jack Tabb on Monday.

Stanzi, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2011. He spent two years with the Chiefs before he waived at the start of the 2013 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

Stanzi was once again waived at the start of the 2014 regular season, but later signed to the Texans practice squad.

The Patriots and Browns hosted Stanzi for workouts earlier this offseason, but he was not offered a contract from either team.

Stanzi has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Herremans, 33, is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2005. He was cut loose by the Eagles and later signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Colts. .

He spent 10 years with the Eagles before he was released back in February of last year. The Colts later signed him to a one-year deal, but he was placed on waivers towards the end of the season.

He also worked out for the Ravens earlier this offseason, but was not offered a contract.
