The New Orleans Saints officially placed TE Chris Manhertz on waivers Saturday and promoted WR Jake Lampman to their active roster.
Manhertz, 24, originally signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Canisius back in 2014. After one year in Buffalo, Manhertz signed on with the Saints during the preseason last year.
Manhertz was later signed to the Saints’ practice squad and brought back on a future/reserve contract this past January.
In 2016, Manhertz has been active for three games but has yet to catch a single pass.
Lampman, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Ferris State back in May. He was waived coming out of the preseason before signing on to their practice squad a day later.
