Josh Katzenstein reports that the Saints brought in three free agent running backs for tryouts on Thursday including Fozzy Whittaker, Rob Kelley and Javorius Allen.
Allen, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year rookie contract with the Ravens and has been testing the open market as a free agent this offseason.
In 2018, Allen appeared in 14 games for the Ravens and rushed for 110 yards on 41 carries (2.7 YPC) to go along with 35 receptions for 196 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.

Whittaker, 30, originally signed on with the Cardinals during the 2012 season. He lasted just a few months in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Chargers.
After a brief stint with the Browns, the Panthers signed Whittaker to a contract in 2014 and he’s spent the past five seasons in Carolina. Unfortunately, Whittaker suffered a season-ending ACL tear last May.
In 2017, Whittaker appeared in 12 games for the Panthers and rushed for 18 yards on seven carries (2.6 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 47 yards receiving and one touchdown. He also contributed 110 kick return yards.
Kelley, 26, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane back in 2016. He played out the third year of his three-year, $1.62 million contract and made a base salary of $630,000 for the 2018 season.
Kelley was in line to be a restricted free agent this offseason, but the Redskins declined to tender him an offer.
In 2018, Kelley appeared in two games and rushed for eight yards on two carries.
