According to Aaron Wilson, the Saints worked out nine players on Wednesday, including DB Derrick Kindred.
The full list of tryouts includes:
- S Kentrell Brice
- DE Jalen Dalton
- CB Mike Hughes
- DB Chris Johnson
- DB Derrick Kindred
- DE Tomasi Laulile
- CB Deshawn Shead
- S Tre Sullivan
- S D.J. Swearinger
Of this group, New Orleans signed Swearinger to their active roster.
Kindred, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Browns back in 2016. Cleveland waived him back in April and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Colts.
Indianapolis elected to cut Kindred loose in August and was claimed by the Jets a day later. However, New York waived him coming out of the preseason.
Since becoming a free agent, Kindred has worked out for the Raiders, Lions, Bears, and Buccaneers but left each meeting without a contract.
In 2018, Kindred appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 43 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 90 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
