Seahawks Sign Second-Round DT Jarran Reed To A Four-Year Deal

The Seattle Seahawks have signed second-round pick DT Jarran Reed to a four-year contract on Thursday, according to his agency.

Reed, 22, was selected with the No. 49 overall pick last week and wound up lasting much longer than many anticipated. Reed was mentioned as a potential first-round pick, but the Seahawks managed to get him in round two, and should have a solid young defensive lineman to add to the middle of their defense.

According to OverTheCap.com, Reed receives a four-year contract worth $4,889,636 to go along with a signing bonus of $1,756,100.

During his two years at Alabama, Reed recorded 111 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, two sacks, a fumble recovery and seven pass defenses.
