Seahawks Officially Sign CB Crezdon Butler, Promote LB Nick Moody

The Seattle Seahawks officially signed veteran CB Crezdon Butler to a contract on Wednesday and promoted LB Nick Moody from their practice squad.

It’s been a few days since Rand Getlin of NFL Media first reported that Seattle was signing Butler to a contract.

Last week, the Seahawks brought in Butler and CB Chimdi Chekwa for workouts, so he was clearly on their radar.

Butler, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2010. Since then, Butler has played for a number of teams including the Cardinals, Redskins, Bills, Chargers, Buccaneers and most recent for the Lions.

Detroit elected to sign Butler to a future/reserve deal back in January, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts at the start of the season.

In 2014, Butler appeared in 11 games and recorded 14 tackles and a pass defense.

  1. Now if we can get Bam Bam out of his trance and focus we should be getting the Booms act together sans William. Now about that offensive Offensive Line………….

  2. Great. Williams cannot seem to keep up with ANY receiver so we sign a CB who is not good enough to make ANY other NFL roster as ‘depth’. Pretty moot point anyway as our team is in no danger of making the playoffs this year.
