Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks are signing former Jets OT Brandon Shell to a two-year, $11 million contract.
This amounts to essentially a swap of right tackles between the Jets and Seahawks, as New York signed George Fant to a three-year, $30 million earlier in the week.
Shell, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.57 million contract with New York and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
In 2019, Shell appeared in 15 games for the Jets, making 11 starts for them at right tackle. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No.51 tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
