Seahawks Worked Out 7 Players Including DE Josh Boyd & S Elijah Shumate

According to Howard Balzer, the Seahawks brought in seven players for workouts on Tuesday including: TE Alex Bayer, DE Josh Boyd, DE Malliciah Goodman, CB Trae Elston, S Jordan Lomax, RB Julian Howsareย (signed to practice squad), and S Elijah Shumate.

Boyd, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.25 million rookie contractย and set to make a base salary ofย $675,000 for the 2016 season when the Packers waived him this past May.

The Seahawks brought Boyd in for a workout last week but did not sign him to a contract. This is the second team with reported interest in Boyd since the Packers cut him loose shortly after the 2016 NFL Draft.

He has been working his way back from a serious ankle injury that ended his 2015 season.

In 2015, Boyd appeared in two games for the Packers after he suffered a torn ligaments in addition to a broken bone in his ankle and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Goodman, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2013. He spent three years in Atlanta before he was waived coming out of the preseason a few months ago.

This is the first reported interest in Goodman since he became available at the start of the regular season.

In 2015, Goodmanโ€™s season was cut short due to a knee injury that required surgery. He appeared in four games and recorded three tackles for the Falcons.
