ESPN’s Chris Mortensen brings us the latest update on recently releases quarterback Trent Edwards. Mortensen mentions the Panthers, Jaguars, Chiefs, Jets and Seahawks as teams that plan placing waiver claims on Edwards.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk adds that the league will use the current 2010 records to determine the waiver priority which would rule out the Kansas City Chiefs since they are currently 3 ย – 0. The 49ers and Browns could both be options considering that they are 0 – 3 and will have the firstย opportunityย to claim him.
The Vikings, Redskins and Cardinals have been mentioned as possibilities by a few different media outlets but they seem to beย long-shotsย as of now given that there is interest from teams with worse records.
We’ll have more as the details become available.
