A league source tells NFLTR that the Green Bay Packers brought in free agent FB Jacob Huesman for a workout on Tuesday morning.
Huesman has even been working as a long snapper in an attempt to make in the NFL, so he’s a really interesting player, given his diverse football experience.
Huesman, 24, wound up signing on to the Giants’ practice squad as an undrafted free agent out of Chattanooga back in December of last year. New York brought Huesman back on a future/reserve contract this past January, but unfortunately elected to cut him loose this past weekend as their reduced their roster down to 53 players.
During his four-year college career at Chattanooga, Huesman actually played quarterback and threw for 8,192 yards while completing 67.3 percent of his passes to go along with 64 touchdowns and 28 interceptions over the course of 50 games. He also contributed a staggering 4,051 yards rushing on 788 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with 12 receptions for 106 yards receiving and 44 total touchdowns.
