Steelers Claim LB L.J. Fort Off Waivers From Patriots

The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed LB L.J. Fort off of waivers from the Patriots on Wednesday, according to the NFL Transactions release.

Fort, 25, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa back in 2012. He last just over a year in Cleveland before he was among their final roster cuts.

Since then, Fort has played for the Broncos and Seahawks before signing a future/reserve contract with the Bengals back in early January. Unfortunately, the Bengals waived him right before this year’s NFL Draft.

The Patriots signed him to a contract just a few weeks ago, but wound up waiving him on Tuesday to make room for TE Asante Cleveland.

In 2014, Fort appeared in one game, but didn’t record a single statistic.
