The Steelers announced Tuesday they signed CB Jermaine Ponder to the 90-man roster, waiving CB Derrek Thomas with an injury designation in a corresponding move.
Thomas was just signed by Pittsburgh Thursday. Ponder is an undrafted free agent from St. Francis University and spent time with the Browns this offseason.
Ponder, 24, signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2019 out of St. Francis University. Cleveland released him a few days ago.
During his senior season, Ponder recorded 25 total tackles, one interception and 15 pass defenses in 11 games.
