The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Monday that they’ve signed DL Lavon Hooks and DL Roy Philon to contracts.
Philon, 25, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few months in Pittsburgh before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed to the Bears’ practiced squad.
After a short stint with the Lions, the Steelers signed him to a contract last February before waiving him from injured reserve with an injury settlement during the preseason.
Philon has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Hooks, 25, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in 2015. He lasted just a few months in Green Bay before he was waived during the preseason.
Hooks later signed on with the Steelers close to a year ago, but was once again among their final roster cuts last September.
Hooks has yet to appear in an NFL game.
