The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Sunday that they’ve signed OL Zach Banner to a contract and waived OL Kyle Meadows with an injury designation.
Banner, 24, was taken in the fourth-round of last year’s draft by the Colts. However, Indianapolis cut him loose at the start of the 2017 season and he was later claimed off waivers by the Browns.
Cleveland waived Banner back in March he was once again claimed off of waivers, this time by the Panthers.
Banner was in the second year of his four-year, $2.94 million contract and set to make a base salary of $555,000 for the 2018 season when the Panthers waived him this offseason.
In 2017, Banner was active for eight games.
During his college career at USC, Banner started 38 games with most of them coming at right tackle. He was a first-team All-Pac 12 as a junior and senior.
