Steelers Sign Two Players Including TE Phazahn Odom, Cut Two

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Matt Galambos and TE Phazahn Odom to contracts and waived CB Devonte Johnson and TE Ryan Malleck.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Steelers have signed rookie TE Phazahn Odom to a contract following the team’s rookie minicamp.

Odom, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Fordham a few weeks ago before securing a tryout with the Steelers this week. Apparently, Pittsburgh liked what they saw from Odom and plan to give him a shot to compete for a roster spot this summer during training camp.

During his four-year college career at Fordham, Odom caught 56 passes for 740 yards receiving (13.2 YPR) to go along with nine touchdowns over the course of 37 games.
