Steelers Sign S John Battle To Futures Deals

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday signed S John Battle to a futures contract in 2020.

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Battle, 24, wound up going undrafted out of LSU back in May of last year. The Jets later signed him to a contract before waiving him a month later.

The Buccaneers signed Battle during the summer before adding him to their practice squad.

During his four-year college career at LSU, Battle recorded 143 tackles, 1.5 sacks, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and 11 passes defended.
