The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially signed third-round OLB Alex Highsmith to his rookie contract, according to Field Yates.
Highsmith is the first member of Pittsburgh’s draft class to sign their rookie contract.

Highsmith, 22, was a two-year starter at Charlotte and earned third-team All-American honors last season. The Steelers selected him with the No. 102 pick in this year’s draft.
He’s projected to sign a four-year, $4,499,404 contract that includes an $832,295 signing bonus.
During his four-year college career, Highsmith recorded 185 total tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, five pass defenses, one fumble recovery, and four forced fumbles.
