Steelers Signing Veteran OL Stefen Wisniewski To Two-Year Deal

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Steelers are signing veteran OL Stefen Wisniewski to a two-year contract.

Wisniewski confirmed the news via his Twitter account:

Wisniewski reportedly had interest from the Jets, but it appears as though his best option proved to be with the Steelers.

Wisniewski, 30, is a former second-round pick by the Raiders back in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Penn State. He finished out his rookie contract and signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars in 2015.

After finishing his deal in Jacksonville, Wisniewski signed a one-year deal with the Eagles and returned to Philadelphia on a three-year, $9 million extension. However, Philadelphia declined his team-option for 2019 and re-signed him to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Philadelphia wound up cutting him loose coming out of the preseason and the Chiefs signed Wisniewski to a contract soon after.

In 2019, Wisniewski appeared in all 11 games for the Chiefs, making two starts. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 guard out of 80 qualifying players.

We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
