Still A Chance That Donovan McNabb Plays For The Vikings?

The Minnesota Vikings have been linked as a possible suitor for Donovan McNabb once he’s released by the Washington Redskins which is an idea supported by both NFL Networks Jason La Canfora and ESPN’s John Clayton.

La Canfora mentions that both Christian Ponder and Joe Webb have had a difficult time getting veteran players to show up for player run practices which suggests that neither player has enough pull with the Vikings players to make a difference, as of now.

McNabb is a well respected player in the NFL and would give them Vikings a veteran presence and leadership at the quarterback position.

John Clayton writes that “McNabb might be a nice fit to buy time for Ponder to develop,” which is another issue the Vikings are going to have to consider.

Many draft experts feel that Minnesota reached for Ponder during this years draft and think that he’s going to require time to get acclimated to the NFL game. McNabb buys them this time and gives them a better shot at competing next season.
