The Houston Texans officially claimed OT Roderick Johnson off of waivers from the Browns and waivedย OT Kendall Calhoun.
Johnson, 22, is a former fifth-round pick of the Browns back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.66 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
The Browns actually traded up to get Johnson in last year’s draft before waiving him on Tuesday.
During his college career at Florida State, Johnson made 31 starts at left tackle and was the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as both a sophomore and junior.
Johnson has yet to appear in an NFL game.
